In 2011, Buckminster developed a disused builders yard into 11 self-contained offices in the Buckminster village. It soon became apparent that they required high-speed broadband due to the very poor broadband in and around the local area. By investing in some of the latest equipment and technology a high-speed broadband service was established via a combination of fibre optic cables and wireless devices.
The residents in the surrounding villages were also getting very poor broadband speeds of typically 1MB so the network was expanded to 18 villages around Buckminster.
